Jumping for joy

It appears that today presents some good reason to jump for joy for frogs all over the planet, an occasion that makes some folks jump to the conclusion that it pays to jump.

News leak on Bung

News has just been leaked out about Kinabatangan MP Bung Moktar Radin who committed polygamy without a Syariah court’s consent.

He recently married actress Zizie Izette Abdul Samad, who also pleaded guilty at the Gombak Timur Lower Syariah Court in Kuala Lumpur to a charge of committing polygamy without the court’s permission.

Stand by me

One is reminded of the above oldie after learning that MIC deputy president G. Palanivel was not approved (apparently by UMNO) to be the Hulu Selangor by-election candidate for BN.

To be sure, MIC Supremo Samy Vellu did give an ultimatum: Palanivel as the Hulu Selangor candidate or nothing.

But, as it turned out, Samy was subsequently comfortable with a ‘compromise candidate’, MIC information chief P. Kamalanathan.

A ‘small-fry misunderstanding’

Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, who’s in the midst of the ‘small-fry’ controversy, claimed that he was misquoted by the press.

He reportedly said that members of the newly formed interfaith committee were of ‘small -fry’ status, and therefore powerless.

Muhyiddin made the alleged statement in the face of strong opposition against the interfaith committee from right-wing Malay quarters such as Ibrahim Ali’s Perkasa and the Perak Mufti.

But Muhyiddin’s denial rings a familiar bell. Political leaders in the past tended to deny saying certain things after finding themselves caught in controversies. They then conveniently blamed it on journalists.
