Guess who’s comin’ to Batang Ai?

Why, it’s no other than Mr Santa Claus himself!

That’s because there are development goodies to be dished out by the Sarawak BN to the voters of Batang Ai — although this seems to have gone against the assurance by Deputy Prime Minister Najib Razak recently that the BN would not offer development projects in the run-up to a by-election.

Malaysiakini reports, among other things:

… the state government has agreed to spend RM12 million to tar-seal the link road at the Batang Ai Resettlement Scheme.

In fact, various government figures had a short while ago promised to develop telecommunication infrastructure at Lubok Antu to the tune of RM40 million. A sum of RM400,000 has also been promised to subsidise fuel for all those river-plying motor boats in Batang Ai.

There’s a goodies galore with almost any election
To win over potential voters’ instant satisfaction
Whether or not you regard this as impromptu deception
The final decision still lies with personal interpretation

Accept the goodies but vote for a change.

The goodies means good news for you to change.
