BN woos Pakatan assemblypersons

Looks like the courting is still on. Perak UMNO Liaison deputy chairperson Dr Ahmad Zahid has called on PR Perak State Assemblypersons to hop over to his side in order to ensure ‘progress to the Indian community’ in the state — that is said to be facing a constitutional crisis.

Frog-hopping is presumably essential in a state assembly where the majority margin is razor-thin.

KUALA KANGSAR, Feb 6 (Bernama) — The Barisan Nasional welcomes any State Assemblyman from the opposition to cross over as it is the best way to bring progress to the Indian community in Perak, said Perak Umno Liaison deputy chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.

This was in view of the fact that none of the existing BN Assemblymen represented the MIC, PPP and IPF, said Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department.

“The BN door is always open but there are no conditions. We are not giving conditions and we don’t want to be given conditions (in appointing Exco members)…but they too have considerations to develop their ethnic group and the best way is to be together with us,” he said.

    When silver loses its shine
What remedy can we all find
Since there’ll be no grapes without the vine
With what cords can virtue any longer bind

For 50 years the Indians in Malaysia have been faithfully voting for UMNO-led BN, and had a few Indian reps, so why did the majority Indians have become the new underclass of society? What did the UMNO-led BN do to elevate the status of some of the poorest of the poorest Indians in the estates? In fact, didnt they sell off many estates in the name of development and let these poor people to fend for themselves who are mired in abject poverty? Indirectly, wasnt UMNO responsible to lead these people to a world of crime as a new underclass of the society who were unable to cope with the reality and challenges of a new urban world? So what difference does it going to make now?

Arent many Indians in Perak still contributing to the taxman? Is it not the moral responsibility of the govt of the day regardless of race to take care of them as legitimate rakyat of the country? Why do they need an Indian rep to represent them? Umno, first release the HINDRAF 5 and all others under ISA, then treat the Indians with some respect and dignity, and we will see whether to support you or not? I dont think any Indian PR rep will ever become a frog, if they do they will be castigated. You have marginalized too many poor Indians, and you have also put too many obstacles in the path of progressive Indians who were struggling on their own to have a decent life. And you have been doing this for the last 50 years. Indians have been woken up by HINDRAF and now they will join all poor malays, chinese, kadazan etc to make sure all you corrupt, racist and dishonest politicians are removed. Till then ‘makkal sakthi’ or people power will never rest.

Abang Mus, a poor attempt at a poem for these dark times

    The People’s Fury

    Dedicated to would-be frogs everywhere:

Remember this day, the 6th of February
A day of shame that will go down in infamy
Call it Black Thursday to friend and foe
Perak is silver but has none of the glow

This day tyrants and traitors overturned the boat
Tear gas and batons were more important than votes
The Sultan agreed and the deed was done
The BN proclaimed a great victory was won

Through ways that were ‘fair’ though what this means
Is that money counts more than the people’s screams
And that the mighty can take whatever they can
And that the weak must surrender in silence to them

So do not forget and never forgive
Keep this with you for as long as you live
And do more than just hope that justice prevails
Prepare to achieve it with tooth and nail

I feel and am confident that NO Indian will become a FROG for the ba…rds.

If they (BN) are really concerned for the Indians they should implement the various schemes that they have in mind asap.

No, if they have an Indian then they can buy him off and tell the Perakians that they care for the community.

Hell with you BN you f…… don’t deserve to be in charge of Perak.

I am sure and all Perakians are wanting the reinstatement of PKR-DAP – PAS govt. that is the legit govt.
