Of myopia and human rights

Spot the difference (below) between myopic and larger perspectives of human rights in the wider context of ‘national interest’.

An extract from The Star report:

JOHOR BARU: The Human Rights Commission is only looking from their perspective when it called for the Internal Security Act 1960 to be reviewed, Home Minister Datuk Seri Syed Hamid Albar said.

He said the Government was looking at the issue at a much wider perspective and had to take into consideration the over-arching interest of the public.

    What over-arching? May be over-archaic!!!
The ‘wider perspective’ is deep rooted in trying to hold onto power at what ever costs.
Wonder what is this guy’s value judgment?
