PPP — and human rights — shown the door?

Barisan Nasional (BN) chief Abdullah Ahmad Badawi told its component People’s Progressive Party (PPP) that it could leave the coalition as the former had no intentions to amend, let alone repeal, the unjust Internal Security Act (ISA).

He was responding to the threat issued recently by PPP president M. Kayveas that the party would pull out of the BN if the ruling coalition did not amend the law before the next general election.

There were also similar calls made by other component parties in recent past, but they did not go to the extent of seriously issuing such an ultimatum.

Abdullah’s reaction is significant given that it came on the eve of Human Rights Day.

    Hi everyone,

Would one of the more established blogger’s site host a survey poll on “Would the PPP President and his party swallow their pride and remain in BN? Yes/No.

Don’t hold your breath for the results of such a poll! They will retreat and cower with their tails wagging behind!

HAHAHA! WHAT DO YOU THINK? WILL PPP REALLY LEAVE BN? MOST PROBABLY THE PRESIDENT WILL ISSUE A STATEMENT THAT HE WAS MISQUOTED BY THE PRESS. COME ON! MCA, MIC, GERAKAN AND ALL THE OTHER COMPONENT BN PARTIES IN SARAWAK AND SABAH. NOW IS THE RIGHT TIME TO OPEN YOUR MOUTH. ASK THE UMNO GOVERNMENT TO ABOLISH THE ISA AND ALSO ACT LIKE THE PPP, THREATEN TO LEAVE BN. YOU THINK BADAWI DARES TO ASK ALL OF YOU TO LEAVE LIKE HE DID TO PPP. WHY NOT GIVE IT A TRY? THE MALAYSIAN PUBLIC WILL LOVE YOU GUYS. GO ON! DO IT!

PPP, don’t be a cow. do mean it and leave. no more hope, why wait till the next GE. i’m sure the next election probably the people or supporters will give u a chance again.
Same like mca, they don’t stand a chance as long they stay with bn. that’s the dead decision by supporters till the next GE.

PPP, just leave BN. show you really are with the rakyat. Don’t talk only, the action is the way you show your leadership.

Don’t follow GERAKAN, rakyat no more respect this kind of leader. Only know how to bising sana sini. Same to MCA & MIC: rakyat no more vote for these leaders, coz they forget rakyat vote them to be leaders, but they’re more interested to take care of their own positions.

Only Keadilan & DAP really work for rakyat.

No politician has ever been humiliated or spat on like PPP’s Kayveas. But he has himself to be blamed for the way he’s being treated like a pariah dog from UMNO leaders all the way from grassroots, divisional to Ali Rustam and then finally Badawi! Anyway Kayveas deserves to be spat upon and no sympathies for this kind of leader…
