ISA in jest?

UMNO vice president Muhyiddin Yasin gave his take on what ex-premier Mahathir Mohamad said recently about the position of prime minister and the ISA.

We don’t need to indulge ourselves in the prime minister bit as many people had commented already.

What caught my attention was Muhyiddin’s response to Mahathir’s suggestion that those found guilty of money politics in UMNO should be detained under the draconian ISA: ‘The Tun said it in jest.’

Can ISA be talked about in a humorous way given the injustice that is associated with it? In other words, it ain’t funny.

Besides, surely those found committing corruption in the party can be dealt with by other legal means which allows them to be tried in a court of law.
