The night the rain fails to dampen the vigil spirit

It rained cats and dogs prior to the scheduled vigil at 9.00 pm in front of Dewan Sri Pinang, but this somehow didn’t deter more than 150 people from getting together to stand united in solidarity with the ISA detainees who are still kept in Kamunting.

As usual, there were speeches and songs — and balloons — to highlight the plight of the ISA detainees and to remind us of the urgency to repeal the draconian law. Among the speakers were MP Chong Eng and Aliran president P. Ramakrishnan.

Below are some pictures of last night’s vigil.
