Oh Lord, won’t you buy me a Mercedes-Benz?

A friend from the US has kindly alerted me to a song sung by the late Janis Joplin, which reminds us of the ‘motorised frenzy’ that descended upon a certain state in the northeastern part of Peninsular Malaysia the whole of this week, and possibly beyond. I thank him for this musical alert, for which he may qualify for a stately ride.

    1. If anyone thinks as a Malaysian at heart you will never support any of the current political parties who speaks only about championing or protecting their own race and religious interests. Whether it belongs to UMNO, PAS, MCA, MIC, PKR, Gerakan, Hindraf, PBS, DAP, PPP or whatever new name. It’s called racism and whoever supports that party is called a racist. It is no different from apartheid. It dirties and poisons your soul.
    2. Those who are racists but speak with a fork tongue (Jeyklls), hiding it behind other causes like religion, meritocracy, education, poverty etc are even worse than clear cut racists and can only fit into the category of satans.
    3. Malaysian racists and the MSN have corrupted the following words which meant differently in other countries ex. nationalism, patriotism, royalists, freedom, liberty, corruption, democracy etc.
    4. Power, Greed and Selfishness rule in Malaysia and now we include Racism and Satanism.

Actually, I wouldn’t mind driving a Merc myself – especially if somebody else is paying for it and also picks up the tab for fuel and maintenance. Dammit… why didn’t I aspire to become a State Exco Member when I had the chance? Corporate perks are the powerful lure that keep people toeing the company line and closing an eye to abuses.
As individuals most humans are actually quite befriendable and agreable. But when they form themselves into COMMITTEES and BOARDS – that’s when they begin to become dehumanized by THE SYSTEM. A lesson to be learned from J.R.R. Tolkien’s LORD OF THE RINGS: 9 ambitious kings accepted the Ring of Power from Sauron but soon their souls were devoured by darkness and they became the living dead Nazgul or Ringwraiths, forever condemned to do their Evil Lord’s dirty work. Therein lies a timely warning for us all!
